Let’s start with the Member Groups feature.

You can create your own groups to keep in touch – whether it’s with a group of colleagues that work remotely, a special interest group, a management team, a “Mastermind Group” or a social group like a Club Committee.

You decide whether your group is open to all members, or private and by your invitation only. This would take the place of a traditional email distribution list, over which it has the following benefits:

• It’s only accessible to members, and not to all those that access your company’s email system
• There’s no need for over-zealous spam filters, so everyone in the group gets every message
• There’s no problem with email addresses changing - group membership is constant even if your email address isn’t
• Your communication won’t be hit by the curse of inconsistent distribution lists, where one in the group hasn’t kept their address book up to date, or even manages to miss the “Reply To All” button!
